What does Obama want Congress to do about ISIS and terrorism?
In his speech to the nation about the terror threat Sunday evening, the president had some ideas about what lawmakers could do to help keep the country safer.
- “Congress should act to make sure no one on a no-fly list is able to buy a gun.”
If you’re too dangerous to fly commercially, you’re too dangerous to… drive a multi-ton vehicle of mass destruction with high capacity tanks that hold gallons of explosives, buy evil assault knives, or walk the streets. Come to think of it, Ted Kennedy was on the no-fly list; that might’ve saved Mary Jo Kopechne.
- “We also need to make it harder for people to buy powerful assault weapons like the ones that were used in San Bernardino.”
Ah, the nuke-tipped, Tyrannosaur-demolishing, hyperspeed, ultimately powerful .223Rem/5.56NATO… considered too wimpy for deer in some states.
The nameless terrorist reportedly purchased his handguns legally — licensing, waiting period, background check, and all — in the state with restrictions that are the very model of those Obama wants imposed on honest folk.
Terrorist does something bad = Punish everyone who didn’t do it. Without due process. Or even notice.
Same old same old.
