Air Force base pulls ad for MLK Day ‘fun shoot’
The “fun shoot” was referring to a trap and skeet shooting competition at the base this coming Monday. Leach said the base’s leadership “realized the inappropriateness” of the flier several days ago and immediately began removing it from various locations.

Somebody is going to be in Social Actions counseling for the rest of his unnatural life.

Added: Thinking on this, I suspect it was partly intentional. I’d almost be willing to bet money that some smartass NCO talked a young, dumb butterbar LT into signing off on it. Probably on a bet.

It happens. I talked a 2LT into authorizing an illegal pirate radio station (including funds to order equipment). I talked a Captain into allowing me to wear an Army Corps of Engineers Science Fair medal with dress blues. On a two-inch ribbon around my neck. And then there was the swimming pool on the mountaintop in the desert.*

* Alcohol was involved. Some things brass should not ask me late at night in the bar. It was wonderful: bulldozers, sparks, power outages, international outrage, drawn guns. And he wondered why he kept getting passed over for Major.
