For those planning to vote

Should the Sweet Meteor O’Death fail, you might want to look at the Constitution Party’s candidate, Darrell Castle. Not perfect, of course; but judging by the platform, far less despicable than any other candidate of whom I am aware.

Hmmm… tell me… why would I want Darrell to control my life and property any more than Shrillery or the Trumpdump? Or any of the rest of them?

If my mother in law never managed to manipulate or control me… what makes anyone think I’d allow it at all? 🙂

Oh. I didn’t realize you were one of “those planning to vote.” But since you are, and you ask: Probably in hopes of minimizing the damage.

Planning to vote” Oh hell no! Have not voted in more than 40 years… well, except once for sheriff here. I’m bombarded at times lately by people who think I should vote for one politician or another… and my standard answer is exactly what I said here. Why would I want ANYONE to control my life or my property, for any reason or in any amount?

The hope of “minimizing the damage” is simply not part of reality. The actual damage comes the instant ANY of them assume control. The moment you pay the Danegeld, the Dane has you by the balls – and the throat, regardless. The amount is irrelevant.

Well,if you’re not planning to vote, why did you bother asking? Look at the title: that information was clearly marked for those folks. If it doesn’t apply to you, why get excited about it?

LOL! I get excited about lots of things that don’t apply to me. 🙂 I like to use them to explain to folks why they should not vote either.

This post was never intended as a forum for debate on whether or not one should refrain from participation in the electoral system. I’ve found enough valid arguments both ways that own opinion has shifted on occasion (usually regarding at what level one’s vote might do some good — or at least prevent bad). This post is simply to bring an option to the attention of those who do choose to vote.

If you want to sponsor a debate on voting itself, I believe you have a certain amount of editorial influence at The Price of Liberty. Although for meaningful debate, you may need to disable comment moderation.

I see… well, I am so sorry to intrude. I will certainly refrain from further comments here.

As you wish. It would sufficient if you merely refrained from trolling. If another commenter had asked a question regarding the ethical or practical issues of voting for lesser evils, your above comments would be relevant.

No one had. You simply jumped in and tried to start an argument. You’ve known me on- and off-line for nearly twenty years and are aware that I am informed on the subject. And this is such a low traffic blog that you’re unlikely to be educating random drive-by visitors. This is such a well-established pattern with you that someone I know in realspace has mentioned it.
