Democrats Push Bill They Say Could Have Prevented Parkland Shooting
A group of House Democrats on Friday highlighted a bill they’ve authored that they say could have prevented Wednesday’s mass shooting at a Parkland, Florida, high school that left 17 dead.
The bill would authorize a federal grant program for states that enact Gun Violence Restraining Order, or GVRO, laws. These statutes allow law enforcement or family members to petition courts to temporarily remove guns from a person’s possession if they pose a threat to themselves or others.
Since that’s so effective — even when authorities won’t report a prohibited person to NICS — let’s start with the White House.*
Woman With Gun Rams Van Into Security Barrier at White House: Police Report
The woman who rammed a security barrier at the White House with her van was armed with a pistol, according to police records, and she had been arrested for trying to climb the White House fence twice in 2017.
On May 17, 2017, Ford was caught scaling the White House fence. She was rearrested July 6 when she violated a stay-away order at the White House.

Great. Restraining orders and the like work (he said sarcastically). Just like schools, get rid of the armed security and post magical gun-repellent signs. Signs made of paper.
* This would probably make Dimwitocrats pee their panties in glee with Trump in there, but they should remember that they’re planning to take the White House in 2020.
