Dumbass Reporters: Body-piercing rounds

Why do I get the feeling that these reporters are part of the decorative trepanning craze (emphasis on crazy)?

An average man’s weapons of mass destruction
• 12 AR-15 style rifles were found in the two-room suite at Mandalay Bay. Each was fitted with a bump stock.

• 8 AR-10 style rifles were found in the suite

• 2 unused .308-caliber body-piercing rounds were found among the unused ammunition that authorities have said were sold to Paddock by Douglas Haig. The Arizona man was later charged with conspiracy and manufacturing body piercing ammunition without a license.

Either these idiots have found remote-installation nipple piercing ammunition (“Do you want dumbbells or rings?”), or it’s simple idiocy. Pretty much any bullet fired from a firearm is “body-piercing.” Context suggests reporters Ricardo Torres-Cortez and Emma Cauthorn simply haven’t read the charges… or any other report about Haig, who is accused of manufacturing and selling armor piercing ammunition.

As for those weapons of mass destruction… Not a firearm; but commonly used by lying, people-controlling victim disarmers to describe any firearm that they don’t like. 18 U.S. Code § 2332a – Use of weapons of mass destruction defines “weapon of mass destruction” as any weapon that is designed or intended to cause death or serious bodily injury through the release, dissemination, or impact of toxic or poisonous chemicals, or their precursors; any weapon involving a biological agent, toxin, or vector; or any weapon that is designed to release radiation or radioactivity at a level dangerous to human life.

So much for One America News Network

I thought I’d found a decent news outlet. Their commentary/opinion stuff tended conservative to libertarian, but the news segments seemed to make the attempt to stick to facts, with a minimum of speculation or “interpretation.”

Turns out I was wrong.

OANN ran a story titled “Guardians of Suspected Parkland School Shooter Testify in Court” (March 8, 2018). Since “guardian” has a specific legal meaning Florida law, I contacted OANN to be sure they were using the correct term, or if they had information that the Sneads were “guardians.” I never got an answer.

But if you clicked that link, you’ll see they killed the story.

And republished it as “Couple Who Took in Suspected Parkland School Shooter Testify in Court,” with the exact same date/timestamp, including the previous “UPDATED” time. No indication that they changed “guardians” to “couple who took in.”

So I contacted them again, with the following (details edited down from what I wanted to send to meet their 1,000 character limit).

I write for The Zelman Partisans and also edit their weekly newsletter and aggregated news stories. I will no longer use you as a source. You have edited a story to remove the reference to “guardians.” I was good with you trying to be accurate.

You didn’t make any acknowledgement on the page that the story had been altered; not even changing the “UPDATED” timestamp.

That puts you in the same low class as Ken Foskett of AJC.com who altered a story that fellow news people manufactured and transferred an illegal machinegun, only when they thought they were reported to the ATF.

If you cannot be trusted not to change published stories because you don’t wish to be caught in inaccuracies, then you cannot be a trusted source for my work.

OANN has been deleted from my news source list. I suggest you do the same.

Fun With Biased Media

I have a new column up at The Zelman Partisans, regarding the anti-RKBA “gatekeepers” at our newspapers. Tribune & Georgian Publisher Jill Helton is well past doubling — even tripling — down, and is into full ‘You can’t say that’ mode.

Fun With Biased Media
Last week, a Letter to the Editor ran in a local Georgia weekly newspaper. It was the usual pro-gun control drivel, written by a but-owner who really should have known better. “But” then, so should the paper, if informing the public — rather than imposing their own bias — was their goal.

Victim disarmers have local papers (not all, thank G-d), major metropolitan papers, television, Internet sites, search engines…

And they’re still afraid to give us, armed with facts, a voice. Because an informed populace is one that would toss their “buts” out into the cold.

Read the whole thing. Long, since I include whole emails, but amusing and informative.

[UPDATE] Counterfeit News Network

CNN presented “David Hogg” as a survivor of the Parkland high school shooting in Florida on Valentine’s Day.

Just one little problem: “Same look, same name”.

Videos and other documentation: It very much looks as if “David Hogg,” presented as a survivor of the Parkland high school shooting, graduated in 2015.

From Redondo Shores HS.

In California.

A former classmate reports he always wanted to work for CNN and be an actor. Looks like he fulfilled both dreams: playing a Florida student on CNN.

Technically, he didn’t die at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High-School, so I guess in CNN’s world that makes him a survivor

Rebuttal: “David Hogg” was interviewed in Los Angeles and says he is a Stoneman student.

Perhaps. Oddly though, a web search doesn’t turn up any “David Hogg” of that general age in that part of Florida. We’ll see.

ETA: Someone noted that “Eagles” is seen on a shirt in the alleged yearbook photo. Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS athletics name is Eagles, but the shirt still doesn’t seem to match the school logo.

Maybe he’s legit, but I still find it odd that I find no traces of him in Florida until the shooting, but he does keep turning up in the Los Angeles area (before and after).

How dare he not follow all 17 million!

The lefty Trumpeing outrage is… well, I thought they’d hit rock bottom, but then they broke out the pickaxes.

Donald Trump has 17 million Twitter followers, follows 28 people in return
President-elect Donald Trump loves Twitter but clearly views it as a microphone rather than a tool for dialogue. He has more than 17 million followers and follows only 40 accounts in return. Of those 10 are properties or organizations he operates, three are media outlets, nine are friends or his family members, six are Trump campaign operatives or supporters, 11 are broadcasters and one is Vice President-elect Mike Pence.

Man, I quit Twitter even before I discovered that you’re legally obligated to follow everyone who follows you.

Hey… waitaminnit…

brett-twit-follow

Brett’s got over 13,000 twitterbots, dumbasses, and obligated family members followers. But she doesn’t follow all of them.

I think someone should sue her for breach of imaginary contract.

That’s not suspicious at all.

Not a bit.

You may have heard of “Pizzagate.” You may have heard about “Edgar Maddison Welch,” who allegedly walked into the pizza place to “investigate” Pizzagate. With an AR-15, which he apparently fired.

Now, I don’t really buy into the whole Pizzagate thing. But there is somet5hing weird, and most of what the lamestream muddia is labeling “fake news” looked more like investigations and questions. Not “news.” When Welch reportedly did his thing, I thought it sounded… all too convenient for folks who’d like to make all the Pizzagate investigations go way. Smear it with a lone lunatic.

So I wonder: Exactly how many “Edgar Maddison Welches” can there be in the country? A sub-employed actor/writer/production assistant?

Maybe I should give the Pizzagate allegations a little more credence.

Active “Shooter” at OSU (multiple updates)

The details on this one will take a while to shake out.

Active Shooter Reported at Ohio State University Campus, 8 People Transported to Nearby Hospitals; Suspect Dead
Authorities have swarmed the Ohio State University campus in Columbus, Ohio, where an active shooter was reported this morning. One suspect is dead, according to the Columbus Department of Public Safety. Authorities are continuing to search for other possible suspects.

Funny thing, though…

Cops kill at least one suspect in Ohio State University active shooter lockdown
CBS Columbis affiliate WBNS reports the incident began around 9:30 a.m. when firefighters were responding to reports of a chlorine leak at the chemical engineering building. Someone had run a vehicle into the building, and then someone started attacking people inside the building with a knife. (emphasis added – cb)

A “shooter” with a knife. Chlorine leak.

If I were to actively speculate at this point, I’d suspect that the “three or four shots” reported by HLN were the cops taking down the knife-wielder. And I’d wonder if the eight people hospitalized were there for chlorine exposure rather than “gun shot” or knife wounds.

But now that lamestream muddia has latched onto the idea of another evil gun, they’ll be forever correcting their reports.

Update 2: Go figure.

Ten people were taken to hospitals and one suspect was dead after a chaotic car-and-knife attack at Ohio State University on Monday morning, officials said.

The incident was initially reported as an “active shooter” situation, but the suspect did not shoot anyone. Instead, he crashed their car into a crowd and attacked victims with a knife, witnesses and law enforcement officials told NBC News.

Update 3: Moms Demand Gun Victims are struck speechless by horrified shock that aggressor didn’t use a gun.
mda-twits-scrn

They haven’t had anything to say about this since it turned out that the shooter used an edged weapon. I’m sure they’re readying an apology to their supporters and asking for prayers for better luck next time.

Update 4: Motive?

The suspect’s name was not released, but law enforcement officials told NBC News he was an 18-year-old Ohio State student, a Somali refugee who was a legal permanent resident of the United States.

The motive was unknown, but officials said the attack was clearly deliberate and may have been planned in advance.

I’m a-thinkin’ “workplace violence”.

Update 5: Nope, no pattern there.

Law enforcement officials told NBC News the suspect’s name is Abdul Razaq Ali Artan, an 18-year-old student at the university. He was a Somali refugee who left his homeland with his family in 2007, lived in Pakistan and then came to the United States in 2014 as a legal permanent resident of the United States, officials said.

The motive was unknown, although law enforcement sources said Artan posted a rant on social media prior to the incident.

Definitely “workplace violence.”

Play Dough, Puppies, and Safety Pins were not provided

Donald Trump’s media summit was a ‘f—ing firing squad’
“Trump didn’t say [NBC reporter] Katy Tur by name, but talked about an NBC female correspondent who got it wrong, then he referred to a horrible network correspondent who cried when Hillary lost who hosted a debate – which was Martha Raddatz who was also in the room.”

Even as a SMOD supporter, I can’t imagine why these idiots went into a meeting with the Oompa Loompa expecting a safe space. Kinda makes me wish I were going to be Prez so I could tell ’em what I think. A read of my novel Net Assets might give you a hint. It wouldn’t be pretty.

Short day today

Just a quick post. I have to get outside and finish some work before the sun sets early.

Yes. The idiot weather man on Jacksonville’s channel 4 just informed us that the sun will set early today. No doubt physicists, astronomers, and theologians everywhere will be debating the mechanics and meaning of this strange event.

Frickin’ hairspray addicted TV bobbleheads…
