KC Morgan, “gun expert”

I must say, even by lying, anti-human/civil rights victim disarmer standards, KC Morgan is an idiot.

Meet The AR-15, The Human-Killing Machine That’s Legal For Most Every American To Own [Opinion]
It’s been called ‘America’s rifle.’ It’s the weapon of choice for the majority of mass shooters. The AR-15 is a military weapon, and almost anyone can own it.

A military weapon? I’d like Morgan to tell me just what country generally issues AR-15s — hell, any semiautomatic-only rifle — to its regular troops as the standard rifle.

As if that isn’t clue enough to inform you that this is an incredibly inaccurate, biased piece of anti-rights propaganda, just look at the image they use to illustrate the AR-15.

A US Govt. M4A1 assault rifle; not a civilian AR-15.

Moving right along…

It’s responsible for killing 49 people at an Orlando nightclub in 2016.

Hint 1: The shooter is responsible for the killing. Hint 2: the shooter didn’t even use an AR-15. He used a SIG MCX, which doesn’t really look much like an AR, other than a pistol grip and mag well forward of the grip.

It helped one man carry out the country’s deadliest mass shooting in history when 58 people died in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017.

I wonder if Morgan can give me a source for that claim. The investigators reported that the Mandalay Bay shooter had AR-pattern rifles in his suite, but they have never said what weapons were actually used, except for the .38 revolver he used on himself. (And more than a year on, that not being released is very odd.)

And it was used on Saturday to kill 11 people in a synagogue.

He also used three pistols. What makes the AR more evil?

The AR-15 is built with the same specs as the M-16, which is issued to soldiers in the military.

That is a flat out lie. The AR platform is semiautomatic only; one trigger pull, one shot. The M-16 is a select-fire — semiautomatic and full auto modes — assault rifle. And strictly speaking the M-16 lacked the forward assist found on later family variants. An M-16 full auto trigger group won’t fit into a standard AR-15, by design.

So, no; not the same specs, Morgan.

And though they are commonly called “assault rifles,”

Only by liars, and the ill-informed. An assault rifle is defined as a shoulder-fired, select-fire (see above) weapon chambered for an intermediate-power cartridge. The latter point means it is less powerful than most other rifles.

AR-15s, as semiautomatic-only firearms cannot be assault rifles. By freaking definition.

These weapons are very easy to use and customize. Just about anyone can install various accessories to the AR-15, accessories like high-capacity magazines and trigger grips that make it easier to hold the gun at waist height.

What the fuck is a “trigger grip”?

The AR-15 was built as a human-killing machine, sold by Colt to the military and then sold to civilians.

No, Colt sold assault rifles to the military, and sold re-designed semiautomatic-only variants to civilians.

It’s an overwhelmingly powerful hunting weapon and an unnecessary self-defense weapon.

See above regarding “intermediate-power.” The .223/5.56 rounds that ARs are most often chambered for are suitable only for varmint hunting, because some jurisdictions do not consider it powerful enough to take deer. Hunters do use ARs, but often chambered for other cartridges. As for self-defense…

Tell that to Stephen Willeford. Or these people. Or this guy. Or these folks. Another. And another. Have a bunch more.

Really nothing to say about stupidity except it can’t be fixed.
People who know nothing about guns should just shut up.
We know they are fools, they don’t need to prove it by opening their mouth.

I hate that this sounds so much like Hillary’s “you can’t be civil to Republicans” screed, but it is what it is.

Having a rational conversation on the topic of ‘guns’ with a gun-control fanatic is nearly impossible because virtually everything they think they know about guns is wrong and they like it that way. Most of their beliefs are demonstrably wrong; some are just illogical nonsense; all of them are tenets of the faith, believed because it is necessary that they be believed. We ‘gun nuts’ often try to treat gun-control fanatics as if they were rational beings capable of absorbing truth, capable of accepting proof and abandoning their belief in fantasy. In most cases, it simply doesn’t work that way. Whether they think gun owners are lying to them or whether it is just too painful to give up their fantasies or whether it is merely impossible for them to abandon such deeply-held notions, in all but the most unusual cases, they will simply tune out any and all opposing views no matter how firmly backed by fact.

In short, it’s a waste of your time. You will NEVER teach that pig to sing.

No, but I can laugh at them, and get people across the country to laugh, too.

I NEED that trigger thing so I can hold my rifle at waist height, everyone knows they are more accurate than shoulder mount! Also, I need the shoulder thing that goes up. Great article btw. Now, I am off to vote and help that red tsunami.

And you’ll be wanting disposable 30-caliber clips stuffed full of heat-seeking bullets.
