Stop doing that, Annabelle

Annabelle Hargreaves (Why stricter gun laws are needed, May 10,2019) fears “we” are going to depopulate the country through gun violence.

“I’m so sorry that you can’t look at the whole picture and realize that we are killing far too many of our children and grandchildren. If we continue down this deadly path, there will be no one left to carry on in any society, socialist or democratic.”

At 39,773 firearms-related deaths per year, and a starting — and static, for the sake of discussion — population of 328,826,065, we could be in real trouble in about 8,000 years.

I’m not killing any children or grandchildren. If Ms. Hargreaves is, I suggest she stop it.

Not to be insensitive or anything, but truly, we’re not the ones doing it:

Yeah, the letter is… amazing. I could fisk the whole thing, but she packed so much stupidity into one short letter.

In fact, it’s so stupid, I considered the possibility that it’s really satirical trolling. But I don’t think so.

You certain about that 39K figure? Last ones I’ve seen were around 31K, two thurds of which are suicides, leaving bout 10K homicides, which likely include self0defense and officer involved “incidents”. Let’s see, now at that rate it would take a hundred years to tot up the number of deaths of Americans alone, who have been killed whilst yet within their own Mother’s womb. And Imma gonna go out on a limb here, but I think its a big huge strong one, that SHE supports the perpetuation of this “right to chooose” to kill someone growing inside of your body the whiles being on a petty whinge about the post-partum killing of eleven thousand a year.. not that THAT number is acceptible, but let’s be consistent here, Hokay?
