Explain the Difference

So we have the crowd claiming that if “we” don’t vote for Trump again, we’ll be saddled with a Democrat who will destroy Second Amendment-protected rights with bans, universal preemptively-prove-your-innocence background checks, raising RKBA age limits, expanding the NICS database, ex parte confiscation orders, and bump stocks bans.

I want those people to explain to me how that’s worse than the guy who supports universal preemptively-prove-your-innocence background checks, raising RKBA age limits, ex parte confiscation orders; who did sign a bill expanding the NICS database; who did ban bump-fire stocks by executive fiat; and supports a ban of semi-automatic firearms.

Then there are his appointee choices, like William Barr who similarly backed firearms bans and re-signed the BSTD ban to cover DOJ’s bureaucratic butt.

The only times Trump has been “pro-2A” was when he got it into his head to run for President as a Republican, and when addressing Vichy NRAAMs. Before 2015, he favored bans and other unconstitutional infringements of human rights. Not that he’s been elected, he has started implementing some.

On the actual “pro” side? He pulled the USA out of a treaty that had never been ratified anyway, and he signed a bill that repealed the Obama era executive order NICSing of some Social Security recipients without due process. But NICS expansion proposals he’s looking at would add them anyway, legislatively.

Assuming he waits for legislative action. Aide Kellyanne Conway says he’s thinking about doing all that by executive order, just as he bypassed Congress to ban bump-stock-type devices. “Stroke of the pen, law of the land. Kinda cool.”

Tell me exactly how I’d notice a difference between Trump — who acts like a another Dem President — and… a Dem President.

Tell me why honest, gun-owning voters shouldn’t look for a primary challenger who doesn’t view the Bill of Rights as demolition checklist.

Find me a conservative constitutionalist that will run against him and I’ll gladly vote for them.

    No, you won’t.

You had precisely that chance when Ron Paul ran as a Libertarian… and gun owner groups refused to endorse him and gun owners refused to vote for him because he wasn’t a D or an R and “couldn’t possibly win.” We told you back then that there wasn’t a dime’s worth of difference between the Ds and the Rs, and you ignored it. You voted instead for that great defender of the Second Amendment, Daddy Bush. Boy, you really advanced gun rights that election.

When Ron ran again as an R, the R party deftly gaveled every one of his primary wins into losses. Because you know, the GOP is all about constitutionalism and fairness, and waiting for them to hand you a principled candidate you can vote for is the way out of our problems. But, if you won’t vote for anybody that doesn’t have a D or an R next to their name, you’re kind of screwed, aren’t you.

We maybe had a chance to vote our way out of this tyranny 30 years ago, but we refused to take it. Now those days are gone, and not even the Libertarians are nominating principled constitutionalists anymore (yeah, they got your message loud and clear).

Now clean your guns and enjoy the decline.

I know that isn’t directed at me. As it happens, I changed my registration (temporarily) to Republican just so I could vote for Paul in the primary. I also happen to know of several others who did the same.

It wasn’t aimed at you, and frankly, it wasn’t even personally aimed at David.

I just want gun owners to realize how we got where we are, and that that particular solution is a fantasy that nobody should depend on.

I have a friend who likes to say that “in the entire history of humanity, no group of people have ever *voted* themselves freer.” I fear he is right.

That was THEN,This is NOW. And I have NEVER, EVER voted a straight ticket in my life.
Given the current “Heads I win, tails you loose” choices between the Asses and Pachyderms I would rather toss my vote away on a 3rd party candidate than have to accept blame for voting in the shit storm we’re headed for. (I’ve done it before, I’ll do it again)

Nor have I ever voted a straight ticket. And Trump? Here’s what I’ve always said about him since he entered electoral politics. No; I didn’t vote for him.

Added: And except for that brief tie to cast a primary ballot for Paul, I’ve never been registered with any party.

All Libertarians support a suicidally stupid foreign policy. Billy Mitchell and Robert Goddard killed all potential for any prominent country to successfully pursue a non-interventionist foreign policy as dead as Jeffrey Epstein.

    William Weld right?
    I Think NOT.
Anyone that voted for Trump knew Exactly what they were doing and what he is, including me.

What I am sure of is….
After watching Trump try to stop Illegals, Try and Keep Jihadi’s out of the Country, Leftist’s try and Kill Republicans at a Baseball Game, Demokrauts Embrace Antifa(violent psychotic children), DemoKrauts go Full REAL LiFE NAZI…..
Unless the good lord miracles a better Republican candidate, I will vote for him again.

And besides…it’s been a hell of a show watching Trump bring out the Real Colors of the DemoKrauts.
Traitors, Psychotic, Anti-American and Full Blown Communists and Socialists.

The upside to the “Red Flag BS”…there is Plenty of Video,Audio, Written Word and Social Media material to Take Away and Deny a DemoKrauts any Demokrauts Weapons from now till the end of time.

Trump sucks, but his judicial appointments are better than they would have been with a Dem.

Two of Trump’s judicial appointees joined a unanimous decision allowing enforcement of a rule making your finger a machinegun.

      I’m not persuaded.

Nor am I, however I do remain hopeful we will see significant movement in our favor in the not too distant future.
